So, I'm starting work on my thesis, and I suddenly realized that I've managed to lose some of those really good procrastination techniques. So I'm looking for advice. For things to do on those days when I really ought to not work on my thesis, but ought to be goofing off instead. And sending chickens to pelt someone's house with exploding eggs is not an acceptable response. FYI

Playing Literati (aka: online Scrabble) always works for me.
Reading a book.
Surfing the web.
Writing letters to the newspaper.
Doing household chores (laundry, dishes, etc.)
Sleeping, if for no other reason than it just feels good to lie down early in the day and pass out.
Doing yardwork. ("I haven't cut this grass in 2 weeks and I could stretch it out to 3 weeks, but hey, now's a good time as any to cut it.")

Own cats!
They always keep me busy, at least too busy to be doing what I'm supposed to be doing...

You know what takes time away from doing things for me? Thinking of other things to do. And my kid, so either start making a fun stuff list or give birth.

Very nice eris. All the kitties I chose were in the less than 50% category, so obviously my taste in kitties is different from the majority of people.
